AI & Cold Outreach
Cold outreach is a marketing strategy that involves contacting potential customers who have not previously had a relationship with your brand. Companies often use this approach to generate interest in their products and start conversations that can lead to sales.
But, in practice, it is one of the most difficult strategies. Outreach goes hand in hand with low response rates and a lack of consumer trust. Customers who are unfamiliar with a product may be skeptical of emails from unknown senders, seeing them as spam. Fortunately, strong communication and personalization from the right AI tools can solve this.
How AI Can Help Us with Outreach
Lead Generation: AI can analyze vast amounts of data to identify potential leads that fit specific criteria, improving targeting accuracy.
Personalization: AI tools can help craft personalized messages based on the recipient's profile and previous interactions, increasing engagement rates.
Automation: AI can automate outreach processes, such as sending emails or scheduling follow-ups, allowing for more efficient use of time and resources.
Predictive Analytics: By analyzing past interactions and outcomes, AI can predict which leads are more likely to convert, enabling more strategic outreach efforts.
Performance Tracking: AI can monitor the effectiveness of outreach campaigns in real time, providing insights that help refine strategies and improve results.
To better understand how this works for real entrepreneurs, see the example below.

Campaign with 1,000 Personalized Emails & 20% Open Rate
Meet Raymond Yeh, founder of Wielded (a ChatGPT interface for teams). This summer, the entrepreneur shared how AI can be used in cold outreach and make impressive metrics. More specifically, Raymond used AI agents to send nearly 1,000 personalized emails to developers with public blogs on GitHub. The goal was to generate interest in his Wisp project, a CMS that simplifies blog management.
He used three AI agents:
WebInfoAgent: this one explored targeted blogs, GitHub repositories, and websites to gather contextual information about recipients' projects, interests, and writing styles.
EmailAgent: it used the collected data to create personalized emails referencing specific details about the target audience.
JobReportAgent: it documented the entire process, entering summaries into a database to track which emails were sent, failures, and other essential data.
The result: of those 970 emails, the campaign achieved a 20% open rate, and 180-plus recipients clicked through to the Wisp site within a day. As Raymond noted, in fact, more than 10 signups in a day were attributed to this particular campaign.
This result seems even more impressive knowing how sophisticated developers are as an audience!
From a technical standpoint, Raymond relied on a fairly sophisticated approach. He used LangGraph to create AI agents, LangSmith for monitoring, and supabase to manage jobs and reports. And his scripts were written in Node.js and TypeScript.
So, if you are a technically advanced user, you may well be able to follow his path. But for those who want to avoid coding and build their campaign using friendlier platforms, we offer the following AI tools.
